Crowns
Dental crowns are typically used to cover a heavily filled broken tooth. Crowns are used to protect and strengthen natural teeth that have been damaged through trauma or tooth decay.
Many patients prefer porcelain crowns as these are similar in colour to dental enamel and blend in with your natural teeth.
The procedure
At Care Dental our first step to fitting your crown is removing the damaged section of the natural tooth and shaping it in readiness for the crown. Once we have completed this stage, we will take impressions of your teeth so that our laboratory can build your bespoke crown.
With optimum care and regular check-ups, a crown can last 10-15 years ensuring your teeth stay in great shape and enhance your smile.

Dental Bridge
A bridge is a fixed prosthesis that can be used to replace one or more missing teeth, restoring appearance and function to ‘bridge the gap’
Dental bridges look and feel just like your natural teeth, naturally hardwearing, and last several years.
Bridges are supported on either side by your natural teeth which are fitted with crowns. They act like an ‘anchor’ for the bridge to hold it firmly in place.
The Procedure
We will start by preparing the adjacent teeth for the placement of the crowns. They may need to be reshaped so the crown can be fitted.
Once impressions have been taken of your teeth, we will then make the new false tooth and crowns that will be fitted at your next visit. We use a strong dental adhesive for the crowns so you don’t need to worry about them moving out of place or feeling loose.
The fitting of a dental bridge takes place over two to three appointments.
